Dr Myriam Moïse is Associate Professor and Vice-President for international relations at Université des Antilles (Martinique and Guadeloupe) and Executive Secretary-General of the academic consortium Universities Caribbean located at the University of the West Indies (Jamaica). She is a permanent researcher at the Caribbean Lab of Social Sciences (PHEEAC, CNRS, UMR8053) and her research focuses on Gender, Cultural Studies, Critical Race Studies and Ecocriticism with emphasis on Caribbean women’s literary, aesthetic and political productions.

Myriam Moïse holds a Doctorate in Postcolonial Studies from the Sorbonne Nouvelle University and the University of the West Indies. She was awarded the prestigious Fulbright research fellowship in 2020 and the National Order of Merit for her outstanding contributions to French Higher Education in 2023. Her research has been funded by several visiting research fellowships and residences in Europe and the USA: New York University (Summer 2009), Brown University (2012), University College London (2018), Emory University (2020), Cambridge University (2022), University of Havana (2023), University of Cartagena (2024).

Dr Moïse has published extensively in French, English, Spanish and Portuguese in peerreviewed scholarly journals (Black Scholar, Commonwealth Essays & Studies, Vertigo, Wagadu, Transversos Revista) and in edited collections (Routledge, Lexington, Houdiard, Garnier, Doce Calles). She is the coeditor of the book Border Transgression and Reconfiguration of Caribbean Spaces published by Palgrave MacMillan in 2020. Her most recent book is entitled « Décoloniser les mémoires de l’esclavage » coedited with Benaouda Lebdai and published by L’Harmattan Guinée in 2024.

Dr Moïse is also very committed to developing collaborative research and academic projects in the wider Caribbean region. She is currently engaged in various research activities including the European Union’s Horizon 2020 Research and Innovation program “Connected Worlds: The Caribbean, Origin of Modern World” (www.conneccaribbean.com). She is a consultant for UNESCO on “Inclusion, Diversity and the Role of Women in Higher Education” and French advisor for the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) in Barbados. She is regularly invited to deliver keynote speeches and guest lectures in the context of international congresses, academic symposiums, youth forums, thematic workshops and other development events across the globe.
